What is Dandelion Extract?
Dandelion extract is an active ingredient extracted from the dried whole herb of dandelion Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.-Mazz. of the Asteraceae family, Taraxacum borealisinense Kitag of the alkali dandelion, or several species of the same genus. Dandelion extract has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, immunity-boosting, antioxidant and free radical scavenging effects, and has been used in health care products, cosmetics, food and other fields.
Green Spring Technology supplies Dandelion Extract 5% Flavonoids, the raw material is selected from high quality dandelion grass, after crushing-extraction-filtering-concentration-purification, spray-drying technology, low-temperature physical pulverisation technology, instant pulverisation, to get high quality Dandelion Extract 5% Flavonoids.
It has stable performance, excellent fluidity, good solubility, clear and transparent solution without impurities. It has passed the ID test, heavy metals, solvent residue, microorganisms, and PAHS are in line with the European Pharmacopoeia, Japanese Pharmacopoeia, US Pharmacopoeia and other international standards.
Established in 2000, Green Spring is a leading biotechnology company in China, which has been dedicated to the research and development of supplying high quality plant extracts. Green Spring organizes its production under ISO and HACCP standards and its products are manufactured to the highest international industry standards, complying with EU EC396, EU 2023/915, and the highest solvent residue standards. Samples are available for R&D testing.

Reducing the Side Effects of Anti-Tumor Drugs
Dandelion itself does not cause cell mutation properties, and can inhibit cyclophosphamide-induced cell mutation, dandelion extract has an anti-cell mutation effect. Dandelion can inhibit lipid peroxidation, which can effectively protect liver function and reduce the digestive symptoms caused by chemotherapy drugs. On the other hand, chemotherapy and radiotherapy drugs have the effect of killing cells, making the body's immunity decline, and dandelion has the effect of improving immunity, and chemotherapy drugs kill cells and reduce the resistance to complement chemotherapy patients in the normal state of immune function, and further increase the patient's anticancer ability.
Can Act in the Tumour Microenvironment
Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) is a type of interferon, and its main biological activity is immunomodulation. Tumour growth and metastasis require the formation of blood vessels, and IFN-γ can activate the growth of vascular endothelial cells, it has been found that extracts of dandelion can inhibit the expression of IFN-γ, which can inhibit the formation of neovascularisation, reduce the nutrient supply to tumour cells, and slow down tumour cell growth and infiltration rate.
Gastrointestinal Protection
Wu Yanling et al. found that ferulic acid and oleanolic acid in the constituents of dandelion extract had the effect of promoting gastrointestinal dynamics using a mouse gastrointestinal propulsion test, and the pharmacological activity of oleanolic acid was stronger than that of ferulic acid. Dandelion has an obvious inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion in awake rats, and its 10 g-kg-1 inhibition rate of gastric enzyme secretion can reach 97.6%. In anesthetized rats with pH=4 hydrochloric acid-physiological saline gastric irrigation experiments, dandelion also significantly inhibited gastric acid secretion induced by histamine, pentagastrin, and carbamylcholine. In addition, dandelion solution is 72% effective in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori.
Antioxidant
The phenolic, polysaccharide and total flavonoid active constituents in dandelion extracts have antioxidant effects. The effects of four phenolic constituents from dandelion leaves and petals on the antioxidant properties of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) or hydroxyl radical donor (H2O2/Fe), a strong biological oxidant, on the oxidative antioxidant properties of human plasma proteins carbonylation and protein thiol oxidation have been investigated. The results showed that dandelion (0.5-50 μg-mL-1) inhibited H2O2 or H2O2/Fe-induced plasma lipid peroxidation.
Yang et al. showed that dandelion polysaccharides scavenged -OH and -O2-, and there was a certain amount-effect relationship between the scavenging rate and the amount of polysaccharides used. Sui Hongyu et al. showed that total flavonoids have antioxidant effects. In addition, chlorogenic acid, an active component of dandelion, is a powerful antioxidant that can inhibit oxidative stress markers such as malondialdehyde and glutathione.
Applications:
For Feed Product:
The dandelion extract can promote the growth of fish and shrimp, and reduce the bait coefficient, its effective active ingredients in alcohol, organic acids and other active substances help digestion and absorption, and its alkaloids, chlorogenic acid can inhibit and kill the gastrointestinal tract harmful germs, optimize the internal environment and promote growth. The alkaloids, glycosides, organic acids, polysaccharides, chlorogenic acid, and other active substances in the dandelion extract have the effect of clearing away heat and detoxification, dispersing knots and swelling, diuretic and diuretic, etc. It can improve the immunity of the animal's organism and is broad-spectrum bactericidal.
Dandelion extract can improve the immunity and disease resistance of fish and shrimp, and significantly reduce morbidity and mortality, especially in poor water quality environments. As a nutritive feed additive, dandelion extract can promote animal growth and reproduction, improve production performance, save feed, and at the same time, it can make the animals increase color, improve the nutritional level of the products, with no residue, no pollution, to increase the commodity price of farmed animals and market share, and to improve the economic benefits of aquaculture.
In Cosmetics:
Chlorogenic acid, flavonoids, and superoxide dismutase in dandelion extract have strong antioxidant and tyrosine kinase inhibiting effects, which play a role in slowing down skin aging. It is also effective in treating infectious skin diseases such as polycythemia vera and infectious eczema. Dandelion extract has been used as a natural cosmetic ingredient.
